Factory SS muffler

So I have this annoying muffler rattle around 2,000 rpm. Happens constantly in any gear, as long as the car is "working". What I mean is sitting idle at 2k rpm doesn't cause the problem, but if I accelerate through 2k rpm, it is very loud and annoying. As the car warms up, it quiets down but you can still hear it.

Anyway, the dealership tells me they don't sell that part separately, only the full exhaust for $2,000!

Anyone in Calgary or area have a low km stock muffler kicking around for sale?

too bad you don't live closer to me....took off my exhaust with 10kms on the car.

Anyways this is a perfect time to upgrade that terrible exhaust!

Yeah, I was considering that too, but so far I've opted for new headers with stock exhaust for a better sound, but not too loud as its my daily driver...

I think I have both my stock mufflers in my garage. I'll have a look and let you know.

I doubt it. Shipping would probably kill me. Thanks though!

Yes I have both my stock mufflers. I think they have about 30k to 35k on them but are in good condition. I took them off when I ran a muffler delete system when I lived in BC.

Ok perfect! I'll confirm my issue is definitely with the muffler, and let you know.

I'm curious if I just replace the one, what the sound would be like? Would it be lame to have one with 35k on it, and the other with 67k?

I think it should be fine. I can't see why there would be a difference. They both worked perfectly when I took them off and they are in good condition.

You are going to run into the same problem with the headers. They will destroy the insides of those stock mufflers.

Save your money buy yourself a good aftermarket exhaust you will never regret it.

I have dynatech longtubes with the borla S exhaust daily summer driver I love it.

I've had my factory exhaust sitting beside my garage for 3 years now. If it disappeared, I wouldn't be upset. LOL
