Need help with OEM ZL1 wheels

I recently put on a set of oem zl1 10 spoke wheels on my car. ITs a 2010 SS Camaro. 20x10 front and 20x11 rear with brand new Nitto NT555 G2 tires. Front are 275/40/20 and rear are 315/35/20. I am having an issue where the driver front tire is rubbing but no issue on passenger side. I guess its due to me being on that side. I am not sure if its the fender or inner fender but it has a few knicks in the tire. I am lowered on pfadt 1.25 springs. I ran this same tire size on my last setup but was the Nitto Invo tires instead but the rims where 20x9 front and 20x10 rear. I am trying to see if anyone has any suggestions on what I can do or if anyone else has had this issue and what you ended up having to do to fix it. I really don't want to buy another set of front tires if I do not have to. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks.

What are your camber settings? Might just need a bit more negative camber; you can get away with -1.0° or even a bit more, closer to -1.5° without sacrificing tire wear. I believe those tires also have a harder inside edge to compensate for tire wear due to negative camber.

My drivers side rubbed when I had 275-40’s on 20x10+23 ZL1 reps up front. A +23et is standard for the ZL1 and 1LE, but they run the lower profile 285-35-20, which does not rub. I went with 285’s and have no problems. Handles and looks better. I’m down 1”. At AutoX the 275’s were getting cut slightly because of the sharp inner lip. If you plan on keeping the tires I would have the inner lips rolled. I had a -1.2 camber and it did not help. You may be able to live with it if it is not cutting the tire. Any type of HPDE will flex the taller side wall on the 275 and rub. Good luck.

I don't do auto x. I had them put on the car Friday and drove to a show on Saturday. Approximately 100 mile round trip and when I put it in my garage I happened to check as I knew the tires were a tight fit and noticed it had some cuts. The tire I have now is 275/40/20 with a overall diameter of 28.66. The 285's in this tire are actually no shorter so I don't really see that helping. They offer a 275/35/20 which has an overall diameter of 27.56 which I am not sure if that would be enough to help. Also I remember awhile back reading that if there was more than a inch difference in OD from front to back it would throw a code not sure if that's true.

A 275-40-20 is 28.66 in diameter. A 285-35-20 is 27.85 in diameter. You are .25” lower up front than mine. I AutoX and canyon carve with MPSS’s. And yes, too much deviation from front to rear will create a problem. GM designed the ZL1 and 1LE with the lower profile tires and the wider offsets for better handling and no rubbing.

My buddy runs that exact setup on his 1LE without trouble. He's lowered an inch. Interesting that you're having that. Agree with the suggestion to see if an alignment with more neg. camber will get you the clearance you need.

If I went with the 275/35/20 that is 27.56 do you think that would be sufficient and not cause an issue with sensors being the rears are 28.66? The issue I have with the nitto in the 285/35 is that it is a wider tire which even though it is not as tall as my current tire it would stick out more being the 285 is 11.85 wide vs my current 275 that is 10.94

or should I take it back to tire shop and see if they can add some negative camber and see if that helps.

Running 285 up front with a 10 inch wheel with the Nitto G2s no issues but I'm not lowered either.

I think the Michelin is slightly wider than the Nitto. Mine do not stick out.

Chasing the same issue. I can’t camber more with my coil overs. So either going to raise them a bit or get spacers and camber more.
