...or how financially stupid you want to be to pay over sticker this late in the model year when the '13s are right around the corner.

The car has been built. It sits, and sits and sits. Why? Because it's OVERPRICED in the minds of many. If people thought 5K over sticker was reasonable, all the ZL1s would be gone already. Greedy dealers are the ones that waste their allocations by marking up in a poor economy, where the consumer has more choices. Then, looking at sales...well, you mark em up, then you keep them, your sales don't look too good. Now you get 1 more allocation for next year...if you gamble and lose? Makes you a loser.

Perfect example of why dealers price cars over MSRP right here.

They're still over charging??? There are deals to be made out there if one looks well. I found two maybe three at slightly below msrp just casually looking on Autotrader.

When the day comes for me, I will be bargaining hard for a deal (I neverpaysticker).

Edit: Old thread....lol. Thought that post sounded weird.

ZL1s are no longer on an allocation basis, they are on a constraint basis:

No, they are not:

http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...=256248&page=3

and dealerships still need to have an allocation available to order them.

They are always on an allocation basis, it's what is available to be produced during the week is what the limitations are.

Message I received from Becky about it in January:
"Instead of allocation, the model will be on constraint. That means we can order the car and although placing it may not be immediate, it shouldn't be as difficult as it was with the allocation system. They will be accepting a limited number of orders on a more regular basis."
