Happy with the 2SS handling??
I know this question has been asked before, and I'm not trying to start any controversy, but I wanted to get your guys/gals feedback on the camaro SS handling, in particular the 6 speed manual 2SS. How does the car feel and drive in the real world, around bends, corners, going around freeway onramps, in and out of traffic? I know the car is not a mini, but how is it? I had a 2006 mustang gt which was kinda lame, no track pack, etc. I have read that the camaro has a very good compromise between ride and handling, which is good! What are your thoughts, happy with the car?
Thanks everybody, I have a 2SS manual on order, and am questioning myself. |

Well thats the thing, if you try to take it around bends, corners, freeway ramps or even briskly turning into a parking spot....you die.
So to answer your question, we really don't know. |

I do not agree with the previous post. I have a 2ss/rs and love the way it steers. I am able to take corners faster than I could in any other car I have ever driven. If you know how to corner properly this car responds very well. If you plan on road racing you may do well to do a pedders update. According to pedders their camaro did better on closed course than a corvette.

Stock, it is nice compromise of ride comfort and handling. Most of the journalist complaints regarding excessive understeer at the limits could probably be addressed by just replacing the rear sway bar with a balance bar. The car reportedly has excellent chassis DNA so it can be made to handle just about as well as one wants.

No problems
I have no handling issues at all, take it I am not a race car driver or professional tester. I am able to take an on ramp curve at about 75 and not kick out. If your going to race then up grades will be needed. Going to store or soccer its a pretty cool ride.

No handling problems at all. There is a curvy road that goes up hill and I can pour on the power and she is so sweet!!!! It is very quick and agile!

The car does have a bit of understeer but it's nothing that the $450 Eibach Pro Plus kit won't fix. There are better systems out there but for $450 you get a 1in drop and better sways. That would take most of the understeer away and not sacrifice too much of the ride.

I have a 2SS 6M and it handles great.
My only complaint is the seat flex. When I floor this beast I feel the seat go back a little which throws my position off. Other than that this is the best handling car I have ever owned.

It is stock.. as such, there are compromises. The car is great as far as I am concerned. I don't race and that's something about which I could really care less.
Much like any other vehicle, mass marketed cars, there will be a mix of compromises. That's why there are so many aftermarket parts out there on the market. This car exceeds my expectations, and the handling for me is exactly what I expected. No problems as far as I am concerned.
