Just bought new intake for my v6 .

Hey guys i just bought this intake for my v6, the intake seems of high quality made in usa , all other options out there are cheap plastic ones. Does anyone out there have one of these installed if so can you post some pics? The company claims 20 to 25 extra hp , i wouldnt know , i plan on installing an exaust soon down the line. For you grease monkeys out there does this part look
good??

kind of a waste in my opinion....u gonna get heat soak like a mofo..should shell out $15 more and got an AIRAID intake, and it comes with a heat shield & is a reputable brand name. I posted a thread on this same intake a few wks ago....feedback was pretty negative....but to each his own i suppose

actually I don't think the stock intake/air box is all that bad... might surprise a few folks...

For fun last night I took the "snorkel" part off the air box last night and was monitoring the inlet temps... with the snorkel off the inlet temps were actually a few degrees warmer... So the snorkel seems to be doing a good job of grabbing the fresher air from the front of the car...

Next time at the track I'll do a little more scientific testing... LOL

Heat soak means the intake will suck hot air in from the engine bay. There is no shield to isolate this intake and their claim of 20 rwhp is not accurate.

im not looking to race but, im looking for the better sound and maybe just a tad more power, but you guys are making it sound like this will take away power, is this true?? also will this cause damage to my engine?

hmmm... just looked it up... the actual definition of heat soak is when the engine gets HOTTER AFTER you turn the car off! Basically you stop pumping water through the motor so the heat has no where to go...

but yeah, with that intake that the OP just bought... he's going to be sucking a lot of hot air...

Yes... it could actually cause you to loss power if the inlet temps get hot enough... the car will start pulling timing which reduces power...

Really won't damage your engine... do me a favor though.. when you get your intake measure the diameter of your MAF housing... (the part the air filter attaches to)
