oil in intake tube & filter

I needed to change a signal bulb so i removed the Volant CAI & intake tube to access it and noticed a small amount of oil puddled in the tube and the blue Donaldson filter stained aliso.
Thinking the catch can was overfilled so i looked and there is only 1 or 2 ounces at the bottom, searching the forum and found some very old posts about this but not a
real answer on why or how to correct.
Only mods are CAI & axle back nothing i would think would cause this.
Here's a pic of the CC install which i believe is correct ( I followed Camaro mods channel video for install).
I'm confused as to how oil can reach the filter going against the incoming air flow.

That is a really odd one. Catch can install looks right to me. Have you pulled the pcv valve? I wonder if the seal and interior passage diameter are correct. If the valve diameter was modified (drilled out too wide) it could be allowing too much flow out of the crankcase.

Haven’t checked the pcv ( just approaching 36k) also the CC had a small amount of oil in it so I can’t imagine it’s bad if it’s letting oil mist into CC.
Now on the drivers side rear there’s a fitting, looks to be in the valve cover, that hose runs to the intake tube and that’s where it’s getting inside the silicone coupler.
I’ve found a # of internet postings about this and appears to be slightly common, and it appears a clean side separator helps, I'm going to order the Tracy Lewis one.

You do the PCV mod?
I used to get a little oil but after the mod it appears to be very minimal now.

From what I've read the PCV mod is not necessary on the LFX motor because a updated part was used with larger holes already in it, i checked the valve and it's not clogged so that's good.
The silicone coupler i have on the intake tube has a molded or pinched circumference type recess around it that allowed the oil to puddle it was less than a teaspoon amount, but i was curious as to why, and WOT romps is the reason and i think the CC is getting most of it.

If I remember the earlier LFX like my '12 still benefited from PCV mod '15s where updated like you said. Did mine anyway. Like mentioned a very small bit of oil gets by but I use a Elite CC and clean side separator. Way less oil than before the catch can for sure, and usually only get a couple ounces of gunk(reminds me of removing an oil cap on a car with a blown head gasket but thinner) in the CC between oil changes, usually every 500 miles as its a date thing when I change not mileage. Don't drive it much but never noticed any oil on the clean side when I clean it.
