no popping front suspension, no second gear grinds, a useable back seat, awd traction. It's a great car for what it is and can be modded a bunch... but the mods are expensive.
Just remember that when something needs fixing it's a BMW and it's not going to be cheap! '09 means no warranty so you're on your own with a car that's known to have quite a few problems... one of which is the fuel pump |

I stand by my post, the bmw i test drove was a 4 door 09 335i auto. cramped little thing with road noise and a very lack-luster automatic. to each their own. if you're going for originality the 335i is a bit different from the camaro, but it isn't uncommon by any means and you won't find yourself in the 11s pacing many others. not reliably anyways.

I test drove 328i few years ago and it rode like crap, steering was way overboosted. Felt like a rwd mini cooper! There was virtually no features inside, it had fake leather, no power seats, no seat heaters and was over $30k. Complete waste of money.

335i will get its axx handed to it by a well driven LS3 SS.
They are quick cars, but a step behind a Camaro SS (even the L99 A6s when driven well). |

The N54 is a twin turbo, the N55 is a single twin scroll turbo.

the x-drive slows them down considerably. They are very nice cars though and they can be pretty quick with the juicebox tunes and an exhaust.

Ironically, Camaro is made in Canada....

Buy a Honda Accord. It's made in America, built and assembled by thousands of American workers; it was actually designed by fellow Americans in California too.
Just had politically correct moment there. Buy the Camaro if you feel you have not paid enough taxes, and want to support the US Government motors. Kidding of course.... But when a person is ignorant and only buys Japanese/American/European cars exclusively, they miss out on so much and don't understand the other sides and types of owners. Less knowledge and less respect for other owners in the car community leads to unnecessary negative stereotypes. Camaro has a sheep mentality driven movement, that it's an "All American" car like hot dogs and baseball because it's a Chevrolet... but this is simply not true. My next car is going to be American made, 99% chance it will be Cobalt SS Turbo(low insurance, reliable, fuel efficient; may circuit race it or take it to autox races) or heads/cam Mach 1(speed and fun; run 11's with small bottle). Just figuring out the pro's and con's of the car instead of having an ignorant outlook on them based off where the car company's headquarters are. I love my Camaro but I'm not gunna lie, my buddy has a 08 BMW 335i and I have a LS3 and my car just has an exhaust and he has a few mods like tires tune CAI and we race from a stop a roll, I have to say he kept up with me really well, so for a v6 with a turbo and few simple mods he did really well, we were neck to neck I won a few races and then he beat me on a few. Just depends on the driver, and I'm not a NASCAR driver but I know how to push my car good luck on your choice and remember pick the car YOU really want not what everyone including myself says, I will say this mine is stock besides an exhaust

Get the Camaro!
Not for nothing, but EVERYONE has a Beemer or Infinity G37. If you're looking for a VERY well/safe made car that will turn heads wherever you go, get the Camaro. My last car was an Acura TL Base model. It was probably the best quality car I've ever owned...a great all around car....but, other than a kick ass stereo and interior, it was bland city and slow as hell. I've always adored old muscle cars and when the new Camaro came out I was like The Camaro is a great all around car and will set you apart from the average Joe. Every negative review I've ever read on the Camaro has to do with visibility, small trunk opening, high waist line, etc. That type of sh*t doesn't bother me a bit. Almost every time I stop for gas, someone complements me or is rubbernecking my car....who does that with a Beemer?

but to the OP. I wouldn't waste my time with any non M BMW. non M BMWs are very nice, but rather boring stock. Even a 335i. I would much rather mod a LS3 over any BMW engine also. SO my vote is the camaro. |
