Reviving an old thread. Have this problem on my 2015. The top latches and secures, seemingly fine. Handle pushes back into stored position fine, but does not retain there. So handle drops free. Any pictures of the detent that is broken? Or specifics on what broken part(s) have to be replaced?

Thought I would share what I found. The latch handle is held in place not by any type of detent, rather a spring on the hinge pin that the handle hinges on. So the handle should spring return into place. There is a c-clip on the end of the hinge pin to keep the pin in place. In my case, the c-clip came off, allowing the hinge pin to back out partially. As the pin backs out, it allows spring ends to release from the holes securing the spring ends, so no spring return. To access the handle to correct this, have to drop the plastic trim panel that covers the latching assembly. You have to peel back the top fabric to access screws that hold that panel in place. Then putting the spring back into position and putting c-clip onto hinge pin were simple.
