Stay safe peeps in Texas & Louisiana (Hurricane Harvey)

Hoping all those in the path of Harvey have battened down the hatches & if needed moved to safety. Stay safe everyone. I am sighing with relief that my sister who has just moved to the far end of Galveston Island, finally made it to a safe location to ride it out. Not a nice welcome for her. Hoping for minimal damages & everyone safe & unhurt.

Been watching the news....Good grief, this thing is humungous....Tremendous amounts of rain over several days....Back out to sea, then it starts all over again....Good Lord...

The flooding and power outages over vast areas of the state for days and weeks ahead will be terrible....I can't even imagine....

Good luck and Godspeed to all.....

I'm in San Antonio and we're still waiting for the rain to get here. News is saying early Saturday and it will continue through Monday. This one is going to be bad because of how slow it's moving and the fact that it's going to come inland, stall, then head back to the coast and back into the gulf.

Outer band just About to hit league city. Luckily the storm has been reduced greatly before it hits us. Sounds like we got a few days of rain depending on what harvey does

Out in Katy (western suburb of Houston), it's been storming for a few hours. Lost power at 5:05... all's good though! Have my camping stove making coffee, and generator in the garage in case power stays out more than a few hours.

I had to evacuate Corpus. I left Thursday afternoon just as it was upgraded to a Category 3. So far neighbor's say only damage is missing shingles. Fingers crossed. May head back later this afternoon or tomorrow morning.
