Chips and minor scratches

Hey guys,

Whats the best/cheapest way to get rid of some rock chips on the front bumper, and minor scratches on the car? Any sort of white paint I should get and just dip the scratches/chips in?

Turtle wax makes scratch repair kits, But if you dont know what youre doing you could run into probs. My suggestion for light scratches is to use compound and lightly rub them away. As for rock chips, buy 1500 grit sand paper, tape around rock chip (all around) and wet sand the area until the edges are feather edged a little. Clean it form dust ect. and apply a drop of touch up paint to the area, let dry, take 1200 grit san paper and sand it smooth with the finish then 1500 grit to finish it, apply a drop of clear, repeat wet sanded, then polish it

Chips can be addressed with something like Langka or Dr. Colorchip.

If you have 'light' scratches they may be correctible with the right pads and polish... just depends on how bad they are.

Is Dr. Colorship the stuff that you smear on in the chipped area and let it dry and then wipe off the excess stuff? And it works for any color paint or do you have to buy specific color of Dr. Colorchip? Little hesitant of how it works if it the first one.

Someone never returned my Langka that I loaned them, then moved to Cali so I took that lovely opportunity to buy the Dr. Colorchip. Should be coming in in a few days. It'll be interesting to compare.

I personally prefer to fill the chips with touch up paint. Wetsand the spots with 1000 then 2000 grit sandpaper and polish it out. But I won't recommend that to anyone that doesn't know what they're doing. I just removed some scratches that were caught by my finger nail by doing it this way yesterday. I backed into a garbage can a while ago and just got it taken care of earlier this week. I have the langka system and wasn't very fond of it. I am however going to be trying the Dr. Colorchip system this summer.
