Shifter
hey.. i was just wondering if i could ever make my shifter like this. i juz think it luks hot.. the "metal" luk justs give it a more muscle car look.

what kind of fabrication skills do you have?

Find an aluminum sphere of the size you want, drill and tap it to the size and thread pitch of the shift lever, and you're done. I'd recommend a drill press for that to make sure you get a good straight hole. Shouldn't require too much fabrication skill.

If you have at least a two-axis oil-fed CNC machine like I do in the garage hooked up to AUTODesk Inventor and maybe MasterCam, its a piece of cake.
 But not many people have one of those, so I have no idea how you would get that done by yourself. If there is a local CNC shop around thats your best bet.
