Supercharger with automatic transmission?
Can you put a supercharger on an automatic? How much HP can you add without having to beef up the frame, rear end and trans?

Call Mark @ ZZMotorsports, he can help you out. I have a Maggie 2300 on mine, suppose to be 130 on 6.5 lbs of boost, about 20 HP per lb of boost...no problems with that much HP, but I did add a Hotchkis TVS & strut tower brace.

Yes. The most popular method is the maggie although there are several others in the game including turbos. I would call Adam at ADM performance for help. frame is good for quite a bit although bracing seems to be a common mod for drag raging. Rear half shafts are extremely weak. Need to be upgraded right away with any major power gains. I'm not sure how the auto slush boxes are holding up? Haven't heard about any breaking. |

Hey Coolhand, there was a company advertising in our southeast section that had good prices on installed kits. Personally I would shop around for the E-force kit. The results are very good, even keeping things conservative. You can get 475-525 RWHP and still keep all your drivetrain stock as well as your exhaust if wanted ... Good Stuff !!! Just do a search for E-Force and or Edlebrock

there is a section in the forums all about superchargers and turbochargers.
To give you a quick answer, yes, you can supercharge an automatic. Lots of good info in the supercharger area! |

Hey coolhand, I have a L99 with a CAI/maggie/LT headers/3"exhaust/10 lb boost/meth injection/dyno tune. It's cool and a blast to drive. The auto trans is much softer on the other parts vs dumping a clutch at 3500rpm. You'll be fine. Do spend the $$ for lower springs and sway bars. That would be the minimum suspension work and does very well (much better than stock). That is all I have done. Oh, you WILL need more rubber. Check out Extreme Performance down there in FL. They just shipped me my wheels and tires (more rubber). PM me if you have questions.

We are running a Vortech, power doesnt hit until about 3000 so no worries on the drive train other than the posi if you have fat tires. You wont break anything but you may fry the clutches in the posi. I've bought all the braces and bars and other must haves, the best money spent was on differential and sub frame poly bushings(for drag racing). I would suggest Energy Suspensions bushing they are only $100 vs $500 for the ones being peddled on this forum. If your a drag racer you bought a car with the better transmission for the job.
