Clutch Pedal Sticking

So, I have a 2011 Camaro 1SS with stock clutch and transmission. The weather has been turning cold here recently and perhaps I'm crazy, but the clutch pedal seems to be sticking quite badly when the car is cold. You can press the pedal in, but it feels like the pedal only comes back about halfway. I then stomped the pedal a few times and it seemed to help a little bit.

I'm just curious, is my clutch already wearing out after only 14k miles? I haven't been racing or learning how to drive a stick in this car (plus, I've been driving stick for 9 years now), so i'm certain I haven't worn it out more than usual.

Thoughts?

Yup it's not the weather! There is actually an unbelievable number of people including myself that had the clutch go out at 13k. This fascinates me as most warranty and lemon laws shut down at 12k. It's just too coincidental to be true. But yeah, please keep reading. Good luck.

This can be caused by bad slave cylinder. This is covered under 100,000 mile GM drive train warranty even though clutch is not covered. You have to drop the transmission to change it on the LS3. GM repair estimate $1,085.00 plus tax.

The dealer charged me $110.00 for "free" warranty tow, $50.00 to read my computer to deny the warranty because of tune (which I did not authorize) and a $30.00 shop fee, when it never left the parking lot because clutch stuck on floor and fluid leaked out.

Lawsuit filed against GM on 12-20-11. I have after market parts but Magnunson-Moss Warranty Act - Aftermarket parts, June1, 2002, 15 USC 2301, et seq. a manufacturer must show an after market modification caused the problem they refused to repair. Suit may be filed in any State court of competent jurisdiction. This was not caused by extra horse power, torque, computer tune or any other mods.

I may post a new thread on this. GM saves by denying warranty and forcing customers to sue them.

$50 to read your computer?!?!?! There would have been a mushroom cloud coming from each ear if that had been me. I'm mad just reading about it. Holy crap.

Did you research the dealer before you brought it there? I ask because we have two in my area. One is known to be good with warranties, the other is more interested in denying them.

If your getting the run around on this ... My 2010 SS is just starting to have the low peddle @ 12k and I will need to call the dealer ..... I have a contact at GM ....call Russell Dowdell 313-667-7153 and state that the dealership is giving you a run around and explain to him the issue. This is how I got them to fix the wing chip issue and had a TSB created for it.

I have been having this issue on cold mornings lately. Does anybody know of a TSB for this problem?

GMguy70,

Sorry to hear about this occurrence. If you believe the vehicle should undergo an official diagnosis of your concern, feel free to message me privately and I'll reach out to the necessary dealer's customer care specialist who is the best solution to resolving customer issues at the dealer level.

Kind regards,

William R.
