Really interested in this mod. The easiest way to get better sound in a Camaro is to get the Stealth plug-in from ********. I have two of these boxes, a 4+1 amp, and a 10" sub. But as you mentioned weight is the enemy. I did lift the 2012/13 box in the trunk once, but then changed my mind.

After spending some time in the 1LE it became apparent to me that my stock '13 tunes sounded better than my stock '11. It must be that Mylink is a better head unit than the older radio, I do not think the speakers have changed. But although being better, it still could use some improvement.

So I was wondering how this install turned out and where you mounted that amp. I also have heard the 6x9s are a real pain to remove. Why did you choose those speakers and amp as replacements? Is that amp small enough to fit in the stock location?

+1 on the ******** kit. Good stuff. Might need a LOC.

The amp I got DID mount in the stock location. Sounds way better. Didnt want to add a sub/weight so I didnt get more channels. I had a shop do the install so it was simple for me :P

I chose those speakers as Alpines are great anyways and they were on the floor display and happened to be on the amp that I got as well, so i KNEW what it was going to sound like so that helped to decide on the purchase.
