Painted rotors
I apologize if this seems dumb, but can the rotors be painted? I'm not talking about the surface used for braking, but rather the rest of the rotor. The example below shows the difference between unpainted and painted. The Stillen rotors I'm interested in buying look like the ones on the right, but I'd like to add the black accents (edges, center hub, slots/dimples). I have done a full chrome delete on my car and the only "shiny" metal left are the rotors and I want to minimize that.
The only ones that I've found that look like the ones on the left are "pre-painted" from the supplier, but in this case isn't possible. I still want quality rotors, I just want to update the looks. Any suggestions for doing this? Here's an example of the difference:

I have seen guys just spray paint the whole thing. The pads will take off the paint on the brake surface right away and now the rest wont rust.

Yes you can, people on here do it all the time because you can see some rust on the older rotors.

Or would the paint not really effect the new pads?

I've done this on past vehicles.
A couple of ways to going about it. Mask off the rotor friction areas, paint the whole thing and "run" off the paint with old pads (I would not advise this method) or painting the whole thing and then having a good brake shop turn the rotors to strip the paint off. I would highly recommend the masking method over the others!

If I were doing it, I would probably take that route. I doubt the paint will affect the pads, but I would do it that way just to make sure. I've got the Stillen rotors and they are awesome, and my painted calipers are coming in today. Good luck

Normally I would just tape off the friction surface and paint the inside hub area and outer fins, but I want to highlight the holes/slots too. Kinda hard to tape off around all of that.
I've found a few youtube videos with the how to, but none of them address dimples/holes/slots.
