Exclamation Popping Metal noise on the rear

Quick question guys. Whenever I go over a deep bump, my car makes a noise on the bottom rear side. Sounds like a metal popping. No mods except for an MBRP axle back and a tune. Also, I Just started noticing it the other day. Had the axle back checked but everything is still tight and intact. There were a few scrapes tho.

Have you checked all the rear suspension?

How many miles? It could be a drive shaft CVD - when you go over a large bump it move your suspension a large amount. This in turn changes the angle of your drive shaft, if it is worn out or damaged it could be binding and popping.

who knows though...

Um could you just be bottoming out due to the fact that you are going to fast over the bumps? What is a deep bump anyway? Do you mean a speed bump or a pothole?

Both speed bump/pot holes. It runs pretty good on a smooth surface.

Well the obvious solution would be is to slow down going over speed bumps and through pot holes.

Have your rear suspension knuckles checked. One of the bushings in the left rear knuckle was worn bad one my wife's 15 2SS and was clunking when I applied any, and I mean any torque. The car had 30,000 miles when I noticed it.

Thanks. Yes it’s on the drivers rear side. You’re right, you can also hear the noise when any torque is applied.

Just got my car back and you were right. They told me the bushing was loose on the driver side. fortunately, it wasn’t worn out yet.

Alright guys the noise came back. Does this have anything to do with me tuning the car?

A loose bushing will wear faster than a tight bushing.
When they said it "wasn't worn out" did they mean it was worn, but not enough to require a replacement?
And, being worn as a result of being loose (or the other way around) would indicate to me a replacement.
Ask them "how is the right side?" and if they say, "well, it's okay for now..." have them replace that as well. Be sure they replace the bolts and nuts and inspect the attachment points while it's apart.

Better to catch these issues early then wait until there is a failure.
