I am upset at myself

I did something stupied on Saturday but more importantly I did it for a reason. My sister in law is getting married so they were having a bridal shower for her. My wife asked me to smoke a brisket for the party and for me to deliver it. Which was fine until I get to the party this is were the shit the happened. As my kids were getting off the car from the back seat I had the hot tray of brisket in my hands almost falling down. One of my kids ran to the street so I just put the hot tray on top of the roof to catch him. Since it was all in the heat of the moment either my kid getting hit by a moving car. Or scatching my car my car was dirty so I never noticed it until I washed two hours later. When I put the tray on my car I scratched the roof bad. I tried the scratch removal but it didn't work so I had some gm paint from the dealer and clear coat. I touch it up but I didn't like the out come of it so I tried to take it off before it dried. But I made it worse I will be going tomorrow to body shops for an estimate. Just needed to vent.

You did what you could at the time. Ensuring the kids' safety was more important. I hope the repair isn't too costly. Sorry to hear that nonetheless...:(

You made the right decision of running after your kid, u must be thankful that the kid is fine & not hurt... rnough said for this..

Now, next time when something happen to your car, just take it to the dealer or the paint shop so you don't make things worse... That's what I do all the time

take care of your kids & your Camaro man

Ciao

You can remove the paint with laquer thinner and a rag. Use sparingly on a rag and clean a small area at a time, when done use polishing compound to remove any haze. It only works on OEM paint,if it has been repainted by a body shop do not use this method, i have done it many times. As for the scratches, if to deep they will need painted.

Your kids life is so much more important than a car. Good job for catching the kid before something tragic happend. Take it to a pro and it will be good as new.

The safety of your child was the most important thing.

Now, you will hear comments from those that never put food in their Camaros and those that never allow people in the backseat.

it shouldn't be too bad. you don't need dents pulled, rust fixed or anything like that. they'll just sand it down, paint it and clear coat.
