I know I will get crap.....

Why is it that we have such beautiful cars with classic lines and huge motors in them and Chevy puts all the cool do-dads in it only to stick us with lack luster floor mats...one would think they would match the int. of the car given which I paid $500 for the IO int. package and all i got was boring floor mats that don't even say SS on them... what gives

Just a little crap....

Fwiw, my Dad's '79 Came with Z28-specific rubber floor mats. And now, after years of driving, they look like crap. Faded, dirty...cracked in some places. And my Cobalt's floor mats weren't special, but they were made out of the same material that most floormats from GM will be made out of. After 2 years of heavy driving: there's a bald spot where my heel sits. Why spend money on something that's supposed to get gross?

When I get the car, I plan on using the stock floormats...for my dirty feet. And then buying a separate set of "show mats" that say SS, or RS, or Z28, or whatever on them for when I dress the car up for auto shows.

This will be my approach, also, except that I'll probably buy some rubber ones for regular use.

If it makes you feel better, my wife's Honda didn't even come with floormats! But I would've liked an SS-specific floormat too.

Or even ones that say Camaro on it. I bought the weathertech ones and they're great! They'll work out perfect for when I drive to/from work (I work in an oil refinery). Got the stock ones in the bags/box that the weathertech's came in, in the garage.

Too bad we couldn't have order a "mat delete" option car and put the money towards a set of Lloyds

floor mats make the car too heavy. They only slow it down.
