Still waiting on insurance to do its thing
It's been since the 17th since my SS was totaled. The holidays really have everything jacked up so I am still waiting on the official word from my ins company as to how much they are going to give me. This will take a day or two as I'm sure I will have to go back and forth. Without putting it on the lift, just looking at it without even opening the hood they stopped writing stuff down at $24000.00. The car had 8000 miles on it. I had GFX and a new exhaust so I am dying to know what they will give me. Any guesses? It was a 2SS/RS. Black on black.

Need to get some comps together! I would check autotrader or nada and do some research... Remember the insurance company isn't looking out for you, they are only looking out for their bottom line

I only owed 4000 on it. No Gap insurance. I'm just waiting to get "kissed" by the insurance people. Could be worse I guess.

Seeing you only owed 4K the GAP would have done no good. You should get the value of the car minus 4K and minus your deductible. If you end up with 23-25K you would be doing good.

I would think you should net around 25-27k.

I would hope towards the high side of that. Maybe a bit more. NADA has clean retail in the $33-$34k range on an '11 depending on options. But I've never been through this personally, so I wouldn't know what to expect from the insurance company.
Just checked KBB private party value too...and it's appx $33k too. |

They'll hit you low, you hit them high and make them sweat! Show them research on other cars in your area and what they are selling for. Best to go in swinging with something to back up your numbers. Only ever had one car totaled but got between clean trade - retail and my engine back

don't let them give you less than full value of your car.

i had my 1989 RX-7 Turbo hit (needed new passenger fender, door, and quarter panel work, but frame and mechanical features were untouched) and they wanted to salvage the car and only had me 1500 or so. I had to show them how ridiculous of a lowball that offer was. I eventually ended up getting 3400 and keeping my clean title. Don't be afraid to fight whatever lowball offer they make first on the value of your Camaro. |

Also see if you can buy the car back from them for a low price? Part it out and make some money!

I work for an insurance company and my understanding from what claims dept tells us is nada.com is a close estimate to what you will get.
