Camaro V6 vs Challenger R/T
Hi guys, long time viewer first time poster. I searched all of the threads on this subject but I figured I'd post. I know this might sounds stupid but I'm deciding between the Camaro V6 and the Challenger R/T (both 2014). I get to pick one as a graduation gift from graduate school next April. I really want the best car and the reasons. I test drove both. But I needed more insight on why the camaro v6 is better than the v8 challenger
Oh also I might get the Camaro 2014 SS does that change anything? Thanks guys! |

if i had to pick between the challenger RT and the camaro V6 I would hands down go with the Challenger RT. if i had to pick between the SS and RT i would pick the SS.
the SS will be faster and handle better than both the v6 camaro and RT Challenger. the RT will be faster than the v6. the v6 will get the best gas mileage. the RT is the roomiest out of all 3 and still have some get-up-and-go. all in all it depends on your taste. if its speed and handling the SS will be the one. if its roomy-ness and still have some get-up-and-go then go for the Challenger RT, if you want a slick looking car that will get good gas mileage then get the V6 camaro. good luck! |

I think you need to spend more time in both cars. Pick the one you like best! The LT will always sound like a V6. It will get better gas mileage than your V8 choices.
I'm a tad of a geek, so I spreadsheeted the total cost of my former LT vs. my current SS (gas, insurance, interest rate, down stroke, etc.). Once you get to this point, drive the cars again and pick the one you like best! FYI personally I liked the hunkered down smaller feel of the Camaro over the RT. Others prefer the Challenger for its expansive feel. You can't lose!

V8 anything > V6 anything.
I'd go for the Challenger. I can't think of any compelling reason to go for the six popper Camaro. If mom and dad are willing to pay for a V8 Challenger, why not the V8 Camaro? Something about the original post is.....off. It just doesn't sound legit. |

The Challengers are being heavily discounted is many areas (specially in the big cities) there are some places that you can get them for around 27k plus tax. In some rare cases the Camaro is a bit less then how it commonly is priced, but most of the time its at least 5k more.
I would also go for a V8 though |

EASILY Challenger R/T over the V6 Camaro, SS IMHO makes it a more difficult choice with the SS, especially LS3/manual, getting the nod. there is around a 4k difference in price between the R/T and SS though which is big and that is MSRP to MSRP, disounts and dealernegotiations the true difference is probably 5-7k. I am guessing a 1SS with 1LE would be out of your pricerange...............
