Where are you purchasing your tires?

So I need to replace my OEM tires very soon, so I'm looking to find out do we have some preferred vendors here on our forums, are just purchasing at out local shop etc.?

Additional question, from reading the threads I see most prefer either Conti DWS or MPSS's. I don't track but I do drive spirited in good weather. I also have to drive when cold outside, if it snows she stays parked since they salt the sh%$ out of the streets here in Michigan, but I am trying to Washington this summer and if memory serves me they use a useless chemical. Whats the general consensus? Thank you.

I've been purchasing my tires from Discount Tire for several years and have been extremely pleased with their service. No matter who you decided to use make sure they understand not to scratch your rims and tell them to peel not scrape the old wheel weights off.

My Contis for the SRT in 275/40 20's cost a little more locally $1249.95. That included the road hazard, road-force balance, and alignment. I have had a bad experience with getting a road hazard warranty fix with tire-rack, but that doesn't mean I would not buy from them, just that if anything happened, you need a bit more paperwork than when you go local. Sometimes you can price match.

I'm going in tomorrow for a set of rear tires from Discount tire. They were the lowest price of everyone I checked. I'm going with Nitto Motivos for my SS 2SS $211 each and $16 per wheel for mounting and balancing. In July I'll change out the front tires as well.

Did any of you have to wait for your Contis when you ordered from Discount tires?

I live up here in Washington. I am personally trying to purchase Michelin PSS. I drove in temps down to 45* but the tires felt like plastic. If you have 2nd car I would do the Michelins. We will see you this summer, Sam.

Sam, I don't have a second DD that I can use yet, I plan on it once I get out there but it won't happen til next year. So the MPSS are not worth it in Washington?

Tire Rack usually for me (I live near them and they even install). I purchased Conti DWS for my 68 Camaro recently.

However, check the classifieds. I just picked up a set of factory P zeros with 300 miles on them for cheap. The deal included a set of 19" Blizzaks on rims as well, and I also drive year-round.
