Sealed Enclosure in Factory Sub Location (Vert)
I know someone on this forum has had to have done this...
Just couldn't find anything through search :( I want to reuse the factory sub location as to not give up any trunk space. If I remove one baffel and fiberglass the interior it allows for plenty of volume for my sub. Anyone have pictures/ advise for sealing this space up to allow for a more powerful sub (and not a free air one)? thx. |

I wonder if you could fit a W7 10 in that space?

Have you had a look at this thread?
http://camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=144841 There is some interesting information from Steve @ ******** regarding the audio in the convertible and using the stock sub location.

I am thinking about doing this myself. My thoughts are to just get some Wood and cut it to fit in behind the sub. That way it would build a box. I am thinking that there will need to be some insulation and just using a glue to seal the cracks between the wood pieces. I gotta wait a few weeks till I have time, but I will post pics and results when I get it done.

I am the one who made a sealed area for the sub. Use cardboard to make templates to fit in between seat back and trunk wall. I also made a removable panel on the left side for more access to get 1/2 hardwood box pieces in then use screws and silicone to make it air tight. It sounds awesome. Driving it with a 1000 watt alpine amp.
