Injen - older long tube; vacum leak

I have one of the original Injen long tube intakes. I noticed on the drivers side PCV hose connection to the Injen tube oil leaking from the connection point many many months ago. I cleaned and moved on.

It dawned on me - "hey me", "yes" I said. That could be a point for a vacum leak. Soooo, i take some of gasket maker left over from the black-ice-olator install and seal up that connection point really well.

The car runs much much better. I mean huge noticable difference better.

If you have an injen - seal that point ASAP...

I believe he means this spot.

I plugged mine with a rubber stopper the day I added my RX oil catch can and breather.

formare, did you have any symptoms to lead you to this? Besides an oil leak some time ago?

I was chasing down a phantom fuel trim issue. Or at least what I thought was an issue. My left and right side banks appeared to be competing with each other. My trims were within the +- 5 range on one side but near 0 on the other.

I was looking around for leaks on the vacuum side, my car is factory on the manifolds and cats so figured it must be vacuum. This point was the only spot left.

I sealed up and the results were very very apparent.

I always wondered what to do with that build up.....I have a catch can but no the breather cap, so I still have that vacuum hose plugged in, but the build up is nuts. I will have to do this for sure, thanks for the tip!

Is that part of adding the catch can and breather is gettinr rid of that line or is that just something extra you did?

It is part of the removal procedure when adding the breather. I removed that whole line and plugged both ends with rubber stops.

Good to know. Where did you get your stops from? The catch can and breather are my next additions.
