Washing the enginebay?

Hey looking for some opinions.. Trying to wash the engine bay in my v8 Camaro, I had heard that if I stand back a few feet and use a softer power wash to spray down the engine then use a spot free rinse it should be ok.. Anyone done this or know of any potential problems? Sounds kinda risky but not sure..

That's fine as long as the engine is cool. Never spray it when warm obviously. Also good practice to cover the air filter, fuse box and possibly alternator with a plastic bag.
