Question About Mid Pipe

I have a stock 2010 camaro SS L99 with borla atak catback. It just isnt loud enough so I bought a JBA Catless midpipe. I understand this will set off a CEL. I do not plan on getting a tune which is why i didnt buy LTs but will this change the way my car runs? Either stay the same, too rich, too lean?

Once it throws a CEL, the car will lean out and automatically try to correct which will make it run too rich. You most likely will need a tune to correct that.

You will kick the light and it will through off the fuel tables until it is corrected or tuned out. You could use a spacer to pull the O2 out of the flow. I bought these for a quick fix until I was able to get a tune done. Ran for about a year and a half with no issues.

I actually just received those Mini CEL fix things from Big Daddies Garage today but the midpipe wont be here until next week. So running these will prevent my car from running too rich/lean?

if you don't throw a check engine light, you won't have to get a tune.

I had mine on for about a year and never got a cel. The car ran fine and I didn't use the o2 spacers.

it may run a touch rich, I could smell it a bit more when standing at the tips but nothing to cause a CEL.

If you get a CEL with code(s)P04xx it coming from the rear O2 sensors and your fuel trims won't be affected. Those codes merely indicate that your cats aren't working effeciently ... da

I have slp loudmouths on my 14 ss and it's not loud enough either. I'm going to instal high flow cats to keep from having the cel. And it'll be louder. Plus a possible long tube headers set up also. But I want to do electric cutouts for if I just wanna be stupid loud lol

Having high flow cats will not prevent the CEL. Only way to avoid it is to use the spacers or have the O2s tuned out.
