6 bolt block and headers

Okay guys getting closer to getting my dart shp block and I need some help on figuring out what headers will work with a 6 bolt block. I will be going with AGP twins later on so it’s either stock manifolds or shorties. I already have some aftermarket prc 260 6 bolt heads and will be using arp head studs. Would the stock manifolds work with a little modification? Or am I gonna have to fork over the extra cash for some shorties like arh or Doug thorley headers?

Huron Speed make manifolds which clear the 6-bolt heads. Stock position outlets which will work with the AGP kit.

Yes, the stock manifolds will work with modifications. They need clearanced and welded back up where the 6th bolt holt would hit them. Basically, grind enough clearance in which means you will make a hole, then have the hole welded closed.

As far as design and flow go which header would be good for twins? Huron speed headers or arh?

Whichever one you like best. If I recall, I think the ARH are equal length but I don't know how that plays out in the real world.

Those equal length headers will take up space if that’s any concern. Old school was equal length offered more to N/A motors than forced induction.

I have a set of Huronspeed shorty headers that clear 6 bolt heads. I had them on my LSX427, they are ceramic coated. I'm going to be listing them for sale. The turbo kit is for sale also.

Awhile ago I did a quick mock up and they seem to clear fine. Now you got me thinking and I may need to recheck. Lol

Do these have the recessed area where the fire ring fits inside the manifold at the collector?

I have been running the ARH for 4 seasons now.
No issues, but you would need ceramic spark plug wires,or you will burn up a wire or 2 pretty easy.
