I was in the same situation as you man..I wanted a 2ss soo bad but couldn't find anything in my price range...So started looking at 2016 mustang gt premiums.....They are not bad looking cars but what it lacked was the camaros interior..At 1 point I almost went to dealer to sign paperwork..But something inside me said not to..Then a couple weeks later a camaro popped out of nowhere and jumped on it...If your hearts on the camaro like mine was...go with the camaro..Because you will regret it

The trans in the Camaro and the handling would do it for me.

Not sure how valuable this is to your decision, but I own an '11 mustang gt with a coyote, and I rented a '16 camaro SS for 5 days.

The camaro had 22k very rough miles on it. Cracked wheel, bad alignment, ripped seat, etc etc etc.

While the camaro did everything way better, one thing that amazed me most was the build quality between the two. The camaro still felt as solid as a bank vault and it was clearly not taken care of. Where as my mustang, with it's entire life under a caring enthusiasts ownership quickly turned into a wet noodle chassis and creaks and vibrations everywhere. Not sure if this has been addressed with the s550, but man it's not good at all on the older chassis.

I like the look of the mustang but i'm def partial to the camaro. The build quality is much better! Just look at the way the strut towers are riveted in... This is usually only found in high end European cars... 11,000 miles on mine and now rattles other than the shift knob which was easily fixed

Hello,

I agree with the person that said drive both and see what puts a bigger grin on your face. I'd add that it may be best to bring a chair and sit in the lot and just gazing that them for a while. In my past, I was leaning towards the Ford, I'd rented one and took it for a long ride. A year later, I rented a 5th gen drop top for what was supposed to be a trip to school (only going once a week so renting was cheaper than buying a beater and taking care of it). It wasn't what I asked for (cheapest available) but it was what they had to offer. That car cost me 2 days of work. I drove towards work, honestly I did, but then well it was a 5th gen drop top so I had to play hooky. I put 380 miles on that thing in one day just driving it around town. I took everyone that was willing for a ride in it as well. That summer, I ordered the Mighty HABU.

Not one regret.

Kindest,

Donner

To be honest with you, Im not loyal to any brand. If any brand have a product that I will enjoy and meets my requirements I will give it a shot. That being said I got so many more looks and compliments on the Camaro during my 2 day trial. Also the interior is a huge factor for me(love the camaro interior). The mustang is a bit more practical but at the end of the day I was buying a 2dr car, and the Camaro felt right from the beginning.... plus they gave me 0% interest on top of the offers they applied. I couldnt be happier with my choice.

Childs Play's Simple Guide to Choosing Between a Mustang or Camaro

1. Look on popular forums regarding both.
2. See which forum has the most angry people complaining about the competition in the vs. section.
3. Buy the one with less angry people.
4. Enjoy your new Camaro.
