My advise from someone who has a garnet red ZL1 is to go with the garnet red. It's a beautiful color combination with the exposed carbon fiber weave hood insert, and the mosaic black accents. The wheels look awesome with the garnet red as well. How many garnet red ZL1s have you seen? I haven't seen another one in person and very few pictures of one.

Real truth is you're screwing second guy. Black is a sinister color I'd live with it. I wanted a red car and bought summit white. My first white car ever that I bought new. Was I in love not at first but now I am.. garnet is gorgeous too but dealer is bad pass on it

Get the black and pit Garnet Red Accents. Best of both and would look killer

Totally agree with this and I would never go back or recommend them either.

I see everyone's side here. Great points, but in the end this salesman will be in your life for a short while in most cases whether the experience be a bad or good one; however, you will likely second guess that color for the duration of owning the car. After all, it's your second choice for a reason.

Buy the black one at a discount and have it wrapped in a matte garnet red
And have 1 of 1

Bingo!
As crap as the whole situation is. You should get the car that you truly want. Dealer is totally secondary to this.
Like I said, try to use the fact that he screwed you as leverage. Talk to him first thing tomorrow and see if he'll make it worth your while. If he just balks at it, you always have the fallback plan.

Sometimes your choices both suck. In the end, pick the one that will make you happiest in the long run. Or to sum up. Suck it up and take a bite of the terd sandwich.

Living with incompetence or just bad customer service after the sale would be a hell of a lot bigger obstacle to my happiness than any color would be—and no other dealer will have quite as much skin the game as the one you bought it from. I'd rather get a ZL1 in pontiac-aztec-green than to buy from a dealer I don't trust.

Are these both a10s? .. if so ...when you make up your mind .. could you pm me the dealer info .. so I can have one .. lol. I didn't make it this cycle .. still at 1100

You should buy your favorite regardless of the history it took to achieve this. You don't want to look back and wish you had... This purchase is about you, not about a salesman, a dealership, a lost commission, a cancelled order. Everyone in your wake will be okay, make sure you are as happy as you can be with your choice. I don't see anything "tricky" about this decision at all.

If you get the wrong color nothing else can overcome that. Oh, you can try, but no, it will be very disappointing.

You are paying a lot of money and should get your first choice. The one you love enough to place an order. You have to live with it and see it daily and should be happy with it. Salemen relationships are fleeting. Get the Garnet Red.

Perfectly summed up right there. This purchase is about you, not a salesman. Everyone in your wake will be ok.

You're about to commit to a several year obligation unless you're just dropping cash. I for one have almost had zero dealings with sales folks after the fact. Service managers and mechanics yes. Those guys I've had real relationships with. But unless your salesman is a guy that has been in the game a long time. You're likely not to ever see him again after signing paperwork.

Make yourself happy. You are the one putting your money into this deal. The salesman doesn't have anything to offer after the fact if you really wanted a red car.
