The Z/28 Camaro is an amazing performance machine even if some people do not like it.
0-100-0 in a bit over 13 seconds, also I can't wait to see it get a good lap in on the ring. |

that may be true, but the way its worded makes it sound like they're comparing the new Z/28 to a group of cars tested in 03' lol

I've got an old Cobra poster on my wall. It was 0-100-0 in 14 seconds.

Didn't Carroll Shelby have a "dollar bill trick"? Supposedly, as the story (or urban legend) goes, Shelby would tape a $50-dollar bill to the inside of the windshield, then bet his passenger that they couldn't grab the bill while he accelerated -- flat out -- from 0 to 100 mph. In the story, Shelby claimed that no one ever claimed the bill...

I imagine most members are aware that the last televised Continental Tire race had 3 Z/28 Camaros of the top 4 qualifiers and a Z/28 won that race in New Hampshire. I have missed some of the other past races on Fox FS1 races (formerly the Speed channel), unfortunately, but it appears that the other competitors can't match the power of these new Camaros (even with carrying an extra 50 pound race restriction). I previously was frustrated with this racing series (calling it bumper car racing), but it seems some improved racing rules have made it somewhat better. Sometimes, it seems there are too many cars on the track to allow good performance showings and passing. Also, be aware that the announcers seem to prefer to tout their European car buddies, particularly the lesser street tuner (ST) class. Also, in the corresponding big brother races, the Corvette C7s (#3 and #4) racing teams have proven their moxy against their competition, including the European cars. The #3 C7 won the last race, and not sure which number, but the C7 has won the last 4 races. Thought that this was worth mentioning and my opinions are not intended to put down other car manufacturers, but show my obvious positive bias toward these 2 GM awesome sport and muscle car capabilities (performance and beauty combined). |

Citroen already tried the aircraft carrier test.
With mixed results:
