Extended warranty for a used ZL1
There is a used 2013 zl1, sold in november of 2012 with 400 miles on it, which leaves about 1 1/2 years of the factory warrany. So I asked how much to buy an extended warranty, I was told an extended warranty was not available for a used zl1? Does anyone know if this is true? I'll call another dealer tomorrow, this just seems odd, wonder if there's a undisclosed problem with the car, that would not allow an extended warranty coverage? The car looks perfect, even put it up on the rack, looked underneath. With the zl1 belly pan under the motor we could not look for oil leaks or even see the motor. But what we could see looked perfectly clean. The price was 46, 500.00 carbon incert, nav, suede wrap wheel and shifter, automatic, is that a great price or a so so price?
Thanks for all your input!

What another dealership has told me is, if the car, in this case a 2013 ZL1 has ever been modified they can not offer an extended warranty.

Is it a certified used car from a GM dealer? If so, it will add 2 years and 24,000 miles of additional warranty coverage as part of the certified plan. If not, you still can get an extended warranty from any GM dealer any time up to to 35,999 on the odometer, as long as it has not gone beyond the factory 3 years or 36,000 mileage bumper to bumper warranty and as long as it has not been modified.
If you purchase a used GM vehicle from a GM dealer and the bumper to bumper has expired, I believe it's still true that you have the option to purchase the GM extended warranty at the time of purchase only. I did this years ago on a car I purchased for my daughter. Make sure that if you have any outstanding issues on any used car your looking to buy, make sure you get in writing what needs to be resolved before you sign the contract. Good luck!

This thread is almost 3 years old. You might do better by sending the guy a PM. He then should get an email notification that he got a PM in case he's not on here much anymore.
