1LE in Natural Habitat
I ran an HDPE with Speed Ventures yesterday at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, CA yesterday. It was my first time at this track and I was thankful for all the Youtube watching I did ahead of time to prepare me for how to drive the track. I had a blast at the event and was happy with my fast lap time for the day with a 2:02. I see the other 1LE guys running 1:55 but there's a few spots where I'm not quite confident in the line yet, but there's always next time. The oval was a little intimidating and I wasn't to the point where I trust pulling the G's at that high of speed yet. One wiggle and you have an appointment with the wall at +100, so I was a bit conservative. Link to the video below (make sure it's in HD).
There was a healthy showing of Camaro's at this event and more 1LE's in one place than I've ever seen before. I look forward to seeing more of you all and will definitely take you up on the ride-along next time @Aero_Sport_Concepts. See you in June? Last edited by umiami2312; 05-08-2016 at 03:20 PM. Awesome video. Made me feel like Dale Jr. on those banked turns. Good job.

I ran with Speed Ventures and they do 4 20 min sessions with an open session at the end of the day. They were super organized and stayed on time. They even grid you by lap time after the 1st session. I was out of gas literally and figuratively after the 4th session anyways. |

Yes, I use Harry's Lap timer and mount my iPhone on the inside of the windshield. I also bought an OBD reader to pull in gear, rpms, and throttle. Pretty easy to setup and use and pretty good quality.

We saw a few 1LE's on Saturday. My bro in law was running the autox that day in his 15' 1LE in red. It was his 1st time running any kind of track day or autox. He did a decent job running a 43 on his 1st lap ever and eventually knocked it down to a 38.8. Which one was yours that day? Great weather all day despite all of the ominous clouds surrounding us. I am sure you will be in the mid 50's by the next track day or two.

Hey was nice meeting up with you that day. Yes the first time on the banking can be intimidating. Hope to see you at another event soon.
