There were moderate cross winds on the toll way today and at ~80 MPH the tonneau tried to blow off...luckily the little bungie straps held it on. Having to slow down and pull over without being able to use your rear view mirror is not fun.

I tucked the sides back in and slowed down, but it still looked like some air was getting underneath.

Background: I have been well into the triple digits without issue in the past.

Is there a simple fix?

I did an advanced search in the DIY section for "tonneau" (0 results) and for "convertible" (47 results) and couldn't find it.

Funny you should post this, I have been using mine now for almost three years and hundreds of times but the last time I used mine it looked like it was trying to come off. Maybe from use or age it gets more flexible? I don't know.

Cross winds will get you all the time. Once the wind gets under there say bye bye.

This is what I have noticed also. Other than that I have not have any problems with the cover.

Knock on wood, I still haven't lost mine. Only time It scared me and made me think it was going to blow off was last summer when we almost got caught in a thunderstorm and was racing the storm front home to avoid having to put the top up... The crosswind gusts were puffing the tonneau up like a pufferfish but it stayed put. I've still got the original clip design also. Probably going to do the velcro thing just as added insurance.

Added the Velcro and had my wife sew it to the Tonneau Cover. Says let the adhesive cure for 24 hours before use, so I will wait longer than that since it is supposed to rain tonight and tomorrow.

I'm curious, are you guys that have had them blow off using the towel trick? I don't remember which poster originated it but I saw it here before I ever bought our car and have always done it. Laying a fluffy folded towel between the top and the tonneau. It supposedly serves 2 purposes, protects the top from rubbing against the cover, and makes the tonneau fit a bit tighter so there's less chance of air getting under it.
