Ever get too hot to run top down?
Is there a point when it is too hot outside for you to run with the top down? So you put the top up and blast the AC.

No problem with top down and blast AC. Have also had top down and blasted heat. Main problem is around here it's always too wet to put the top down, or drive it for that matter. Only about a 1000 miles since April.

I live in Southeast Texas & never had a convertible. However, I've had plenty of T-Tops & my vette had the targa top.
I rarely drove with the tops off in the summer months.... June, July, August. Spring & Fall for the most part I drove with the top off exclusively. Winters are usually wet, so it's off & on during the winter.. January/February usually too cold. But definitely too hot in the summer for me.

I have what I call the 90 degree rule. Over that, the top goes up and the A/C on.

Back when I was in my 30's it was never too hot or cold for the top being down, now in my 60's it really depends on if the sun is out if it's too hot. Sunny days over 90F is too hot but cloudy days I am still comfortable at close to 100F.
On colder days if it's sunny with no jacket 60F is my low limit, with a jacket 50F is. Cloudy days when it's colder 65F with no jacket and 60 with.

Quick answer, June through october (south florida) it's to hot to run with the top down
Really it rains just about every day during that time anyway, the rest of the year top's usually only up when it's parked (or raining)

Thanks,
Up here in Canada I've never had the top up while sunny but damn it is getting hot here. Sitting in traffic is not fun at 100+.

Here in Vegas it does get rather hot, this summer we have had it worse than previous years so far. Last year I could have the top down at 109 degrees in the sunlight, I have dropped that threshold down to 100 degrees in sunshine and the top goes up, however when the sun goes down, I don't care how hot it is outside, the top is DOWN! I really love driving around in this city at night with the top down and feeling that balmy dry air blowin all around...

Any chance I get the top will be down. Anything over 90 and I start to cook easily so the top will go up but if it's 90 and cloudy then that's a different story.

DC Metropolitan area potentially gets too hot for top down when sitting in some type of summer traffic back-up nightmare. Other 'n 'at, that's what this convertible dream machine was made for.
