The base is like a 2 color appearance. It can look orange or red depending on angle and sun, surface.

On my 2000 Blazer it's red but under the hood without the clear coat it looks orange. It's similar base that can look like 2 diff colors, like the dark blue. Then they add the metal flakes to give it that glitter look.

It's a good color. The clear / wax looks a bit poor.

I own a bodyshop, so I decided to look up the Dupont formula for IOM. I was surprised that it didn't have much pearl in the formula. The color contains: Bright Red, Yellow, Gold Metallic, (alot), Red Orange, a "flop control agent", and a very small amount of Copper Pearl. I suppose a pearlized clear would change it, but if it has that much gold metallic, I think I would just start over and custom mix an orange pearl base.

When you mean an orange pearl base, as a "new clearcoat" or a whole new paint job?

Guess there's a science to everything! Thanks for the info...

I was talking about a new basecoat...in other words, starting over with a new paintjob. I guess you could mix up the standard formula, make some test panel sprayouts, then try using clearcoats tinted with different pearls...just another idea.

Yeah, and??? If your sayin my truck is ghetto, thats odd, ive seen more STOCK Frontiers, cheap Jeeps, and El "Diablos" come from the ghetto. Oh, you forgot shaved handles, shaved top body line, escalade front end, fiberglass console, and narrowed rear end. Sorry if its not like the cars you buy off the used car lot and fix up with Autozone parts. Bolt-on's are for beginers! Camaro will prolly end up the same way. MODIFIED to make it mine.... I cant wait to cut up a brand new car!
