I posted all the LS3 torque specs in the Big DIY Index. It's a sticky in the DIY subforum.

On that note, I believe it's 18 lbs/ft though.

I doing my Kooks header install tomorrow and instructions say to torque bolts to 25-30lbs inst thatt too much. I dont want to strip the threads on the head. It also states to use a little bit of hi temp silicone on the gasket on both sides!? Is this correct? Sorry 1st time installing headers,on a car. Just want to make sure i do it right! Also do i use any lock tite on the bolts?

I just finished installing my Kooks last night. I re-used the factory bolts and torqued them to between 18 - 20 ft lbs. No leaks so far. Will re-check after a few heat cycles.

Do not use loctite; you will never get them off if you have to. Use some anti-seize.

ARH told me 18 ft./lbs. on the header bolts, and just "good-n-tight" on the O2 Sensors. That being said, I torqued the bolts down to about 22 ft./lbs. to account for prevailing torque, and I used anti-seize on the bolts too. And yes, need to re-check them in about 500 miles.

Use oem gaskets. Do not use loctite. Anti seize if fine on header bolts but that's up to you. However, you should use it on 02 sensors or pay the price later. 18ft lbs on the bolts then recheck after some cycles.

None of mine loosened up after 500+miles but there are PLENTY reports of that happening. Definitely enough to go back and check. It only takes a 15min or so to check them all.

Kooks calls for 25-30 ft lbs. The manual calls for 18 if I remember right. We do not use the KOOKs gaskets. The stock gaskets seem to work better.

Yeah im using my stock gaskets too as my tuner recommended. again Kooks calls for 25-30 lbs so I will be doing 25 lbs and see how that goes. The stock bolts had some yellow stuff on them when I was taking them off last night that's why I asked if I should use locktite but I will just stick to anti seize. Thanks everyone!! Cant wait to see how it will sound after!

Be sure and get your inch pounds and foot pounds squared away! Big difference! 12 inch pounds equals 1 foot pound!
Should be kooks 25-30 ft lbs!!!
