Bolt ons!

Yeah, another which bolt-on with X amount of dollars should I get thread.. but I've been out of the game for a while. Had a crappy 6 cylinder mustang the past year just to hold me over for an ss. With that being said, I am getting an exhaust (although I know I wont get any real hp gain from it) soon. I want something to give me an extra 10-20 hp. I have around 500$ to spend. Can someone send some links to product or anything? I'm thinking CAI first but you guys know your sh@! so i figured I would get some advice first. Thanks in advance for any replies. Love the site. Very useful info.

The high flow cats were a noticable improvement for me. Like JBA or Dynatech's

Not trying to be a smart a$$ but a search for "add ons" will bring you a wealth of info and ideas.
"Camaro SS "starter" mods" in the V8 bolt on section is a good place to start.

Thanks for all the replies. How big of a deal are headers to install? (what will it cost me and will I run into problems). I am going to do the magnaflow catback exhaust and the headers should make it sound even better, I would think.

Headers are pretty easy to install on these cars as long as you can get the car at least 18" off the ground safely and have basic tools and, preferably, a torque wrench. Cost for decent headers with high-flow cats start around $750 and go up depending on the brand.

Yes, LTs and a catback make these cars sound "better" but just keep in mind that the exhaust will change the sound and the LTs will increase the volume so, find the exhaust that you like and then the LTs will make it sound "better". There are countless threads on "best exhaust" but a good place to start is the exhaust sticky.

With a $500 starter budget I suggest picking up a Roto-Fab intake system and a VMAX throttle body. That will give you a little more sound and a little more HP, TQ and throttle response. Then save up for the exhaust headers and tune.

Feel free to call, PM or email me anytime with questions or for pricing. I can hook ya up with a package deal and keep you below budget.

Best regards,

Tyler
