Well while some Camaro5 rocket engineers claim that these vents are used for watering the filter,.....

my theory is that they are used as outlets for the smoke .

I think this will work for my Airaid. If I can make a top for it with all the holes I think I can get enough water in through the filter to cool of the MAF/AIT to get accurate readings!
And I like ROD1's old intake idea, it kinda looks like a retracted snorkel from a German U-boat!!
