Noob question: Leave car in track alignment?

First HPDI coming up in April at Vette Museum's track in BG.

2018 non-1LE Z on stock SC3s.

Questions is regarding alignment:

1) is it even worth the trouble for a total neophyte to get the track alignment for an HPDI event? Going forward I'm probably a 2 events per year guy.

2) Car gets 5k or less miles on it per year. If I do get track alignment, can I leave it there w/o grinding my tires into oblivion on the street (I'm pretty easy on the car driving on the street).

I think the answer is yeah go on and do it and just leave it there but looking for confirmation from some informed folks. Thanks.

I leave mine in track alignment. I track mine a lot more but also DD it fairly often weather permitting. I drive 100-miles round trip to work and drove the car most days of the spring/summer that it wasn't pouring rain, and I've not seen much wear. Hardly anything in comparison to what I do to the outside edges.

You'll be perfectly fine if you're going with the GM recommended track alignment at -2* front / - 1.5* rear camber.

I might be wrong on that rear number, can't remember it off the top of my head.

That was the plan (the GM recommendation). Not like I'm looking to set any track records first time out

Go -2.0 front and -1.5 rear. That is a nice balance.

Hey Chris, I leave the track alignment on the car with no issues. Come to your first HPDE at NCM in late May with 1010ths Motorsports. Great bunch of people and good instructors. Hope to see you there and also at CamaroFest in July.
