Pricing on 2014 1LT/RS

local dealer has a few 2014 1LT/RS for $30,135. Does this seem a little steep? Looking to trade in my 2008 pontiac G6 in for a camaro and was told they couldn't do it, just over what they could finance and i'm thinking about talking them up on trade in value or talking down on the price of the camaro a little bit. First time trading in a car so i suck at negotiating.

At the Chevy Camaro build site, I came up with $30,480 for a 1LT/RS Automatic with Rear Vision Package (remove $495 if it doesn't have the rear camera). This is without any discounts.

Right now you can get $2,000 Consumer Cash on 2014 models. So that would be $28,480. This is where dealers say they are giving you $$ off instead of giving you a dealer invoice discount for a 2014 model. For some reason dealers aren't in a rush to get rid of the 2014 models, so there is no incentive to give you a bigger discount other than what GM is offering. I still see some 2013 SS models sitting on dealer inventory around the country, for some reason they don't want to give any discounts and would rather let them sit on their lot than sell them. Someone in another thread even said they found a 2012 on a lot brand new!

If you can get the military, college, or credit union discount, it would drop it by another $1,000 or so.

Then you have the Private offers: Conquest Cash $1,500, GM $1,000 Private Offer, or USAA $750 discount - only 1 can be used but some say Conquest and GM Private Offer can be stacked).

And don't let any dealer BS you with "Market Value" markup or savings.

Chevy lists them on their site.

Or you can use a car buying service like I did.

A local dealer told me the 1,500 Conquest and 1,000 PO can stack but not the 750 USAA discount with the 1,000 PO. I got it writing through email for proof too

I've actually been comparing Trim packages more and you guys think that the 2LT is worth the price difference? The HUD would be a neat feature along with the color DIC but being practical does it make or break the car for you? Same with the additional gauge pack i guess. I've never had or rode in a car with leather seats so i can't really say anything on that hehe.

I got the 2014 2LT/RS specifically because I wanted all the extras like leather, HUD, etc. Highly recommend the RS if you can swing it. It really makes the Camaro look awesome.

For sure getting the rs package either way. Love my hid and halos so I'd be getting the headlights either way. Same with spoiler

I looked at all trim packages including the SS and decided to go with the 2LT. The bump to SS wouldn't have gotten me the RS package, that's the 2SS so price determined the trim really. But the halo lights, rear vision, leather seats (huge) HUD. The 20" wheels are a must do in my opinion along with the leather seats. They hold up so much better. I like the gauges too and as a bonus the dealer threw in the navi, sunroof and lock nuts. Resale will be a lot easier that the car has more options and worth more as well. Got mine for $32,380 with the upgraded Chrystal Red Tintcoat, after the $2,000 discount.

I think that price you gave in a little high for an LS. You can do better but then again it is one of the hottest cars out there in this division right now. Also Chevy isn't hurting on sales either creating what you call a sellers market. Play some hard ball with the dealer or make him throw in some free upgrades. Took me 2 months of negotiating at several dealers to find the right price.

I got my Camaro in May. The dealer's price after the $2000 rebate and $1000 private offer was $27,495. This was for a 2014 2LT with RS, automatic transmission, and premium floor mats. No other options added.

RedHotRuby, that's almost exactly what I paid for my 1SS with RS (I had to have the HIDs and LED tails), short throw, npp, and rear view.

Everything else is base in the car, (except even the 1SS comes with MyLink). No sunroof, no leather, no hud, no nav, no rear floor mats, no heated seats, etc.

At that price you are wavering between a very well appointed v6, or a far from very well appointed SS.

That said, OP, the pricing isn't far off, as long as the additional $2000 off is on the table.

Ugh that makes me jealous. Then again with all the options I wanted it wouldn't have stayed at that price. I wanted the SS with the RS package but they were definitely not charging $32,000, they wanted about $36,000 with the RS package. Then again I'm in NY where business is brisk, prices might be jacked up. My v6 has most every option I can think of except for the interior trim package which may or may not be overkill.

I saw the RS's going for $27 - $29,000 though. They didn't have em on the floor though but hidden away upstairs. I just thought he could do better.
