Seeing the "first drive" reviews. It's what we expected. Complaints about the interior. Otherwise mostly positive. Truck feels evolutionary, but improved/refined. A base hit, not a home run. General sentiment is that brand-blind truck buyers won't be swayed but any particular aspect.

Should’ve kept the off center steering wheel. Gave it a nostalgic feel only a Chevy truck could give. I’m not taking it to Watkins glen

X2

I've read several first drive reviews. Biggest take away I get is how it drives. More refined and controlled, versus the prior gen which may have had some bounce or jolting around. They say it drives more like you'd expect a larger SUV to drive.

The extra space and storage, neat towing options and camera, and better/larger bed is all further plusses.

Interior is just enough, but not as nice as RAM or F150 (I can agree there) and exterior design isn't getting any real compliments, but no bashing either. More along the lines of "polarizing" and different.

Personally, while I'm sure its a great truck, but for the 2019 models, the Silverado would be last on my want list. That exterior and "nice but not as nice as the others" interior kicks it down to the bottom for me. That doesn't mean I hate it. Honestly I think all the trucks from the big three truck makers are good options.

It was the safe play perhaps, just not something that shuts Dennis Leary up in the commercials anytime soon.

I see the logic in the conservative strategy. Not really doing anything fancy; just building a good, honest, simple truck. There is a certain part of the market that appeals to. And if they've focused their attention on smaller details, rather than big headline grabbing things (like Ford), it could very well be the better truck.

Well, its not like that was going to happen anyway.

I like it. If I were looking to purchase a new truck, I'd be looking at the 2.7 4 cylinder Silverado.

Same. I'm not as averse to the 2.7T as some people are being. Hoping to see it in Colorado honestly.

As much as I love the V6 and would hate to see it go, that 2.7 would be pretty fantastic in the midsize twins. I think it will happen.

Some observant folks have noticed there is absolutely zero proof of a Regular Cab Short Bed truck existing. No spy photos, no option to order one in the order guides, etc.

The Regular Cab Long Bed truck only appears in the fleet model's order guide.

Makes sense, one less frame to have to keep in stock right? I'd imagine regular cab long bed and crew cab short bed share a frame, so there is no business need to eliminate the single cab like Ram did.

Regular cab is only available on the WT I think, and the WT package appears in the non-fleet ordering guide, so shouldnt it be available for non-fleet? I dont even see specifically where bed or cab type is shown on the guides.

I get it, I just don't know if it moves the needle at all for GM. Didn't we all expect a HP bump from the V8s to be more competitive for example?

Someone tell me if I'm wrong, but looks like 2019 Pricing is available on the GM Family First build and price website? Everything except the single cab WT it looks like you can play with. I see the 2.7L engine so it cant really be 2018..

Yes, it's up on the Supplier/Employee Discount sites.

There's a chance the Regular Cab will be fleet only so it may not show up on there.

That's a bummer. Not everyone needs 4 doors and/or wants to pay for it.
