Has anybody heard of painting your own bowties?

I dont know anyone that has painted their bowties but im sure theirs ppl that have. I got a vinyl insert on mine for both my bowties. There are many web sites that sell just that in many different colors for very cheap. I got mine on www.webxtremes.com/camaro2010decals.htm in Inferno Orange to match the color of my car and they only costed $11.99 each plus they do it all there from the SS letters to the gills or anything you need for the Camaro.

thanks for the info, but i already have vinyl on my ties. I recently had some bad hail damage to my car and it had the hood, roof, trunk, one door and two quarter panels replaced. The whole car was repainted including my stripes that were vinyl before. I thought it would be nice and maybe easy to paint my bowties. Just tape them off with all surrounding areas and paint and clear.?

I painted mine. It does have imperfections but there are only noticeable from up close. Here is a pic.
