If you want I hear they even have 1,000 HP package so you too can have more power than the upcoming 2016 GT500

Seriously though, I read a review of the lingenfelter cts-v and that thing was a beast. I may do this upgrade as a Christmas present to myself next year once more data is posted on their site.
OK so I counter and take my Mustange to Shelby, Roush, Saleen, etc....

Never good to compare factory to tuner. There's always a badder beast, unless your Tony Schumacher

Details available for release yet or is this something that is still in the works? I know you've been playing with the V's forever.

I've already been looking a getting a smaller crank pulley and your dual pumps. I figure that will put it up to 600rwhp. Is there an OD cog setup for the 1900? Are you pulling the little blower off and going bigger?

To the OP, you admitted defeat already? It will be MONTHS before both of them are in the hands of magazine/people. I know it's not looking good right now, but you never know. Let it play out first.

I don't want to compete. I want a 16V pushrod V8 with as much torque as horsepower

+1

I'm a GM/Camaro owner and lifer but this is, and will always be true. Yes, the Camaro wins the beauty contest, but other than that it gets smoked, I mean smoked by the competition from Ford.

Those DOHC owners can have fun working on their engines after warranty is up.

The only thing they have fallen way behind is marketing. GM has marketed this car brilliantly and it has payed big dividends, but it has also bit them in the ass a bit in regards to making it easier for the competition. Ford has done nothing but earn my respect the last couple years. They are ahead of the game in many regards and doing it in a way that should make their enthusiasts proud.

And why is it stupid that Ford has the ability to immediately answer back and seemingly one up Chevy when it comes to the Camaro? As someone else said, GM showed their hand very early and did for the most part what was expected. Did they surprise with a few features and exceed early expectations, sure, but they also gave Ford plenty of time to react to any of those changes. But I've said for a while now that those expectations should have been towards beating the 2013 GT500 (which everyone knew was going to be Ford's immediate answer to the ZL1 and released around the same time), not the current 2012 model. Of course we don't know exactly how the 2012 ZL1 and the 2013 GT500 will stack up against each other performance wise, but in the eyes of the general consumer, especially for this type of car, Ford has already won.

Everyone knows this is one big cat and mouse poker game, and to me it just looks like Ford is better at playing it.

I'm a future 2012 ZL1 owner and a big, loyal GM fan. Even with all that said, I just can't see myself ever buying a Ford product, but I'm just calling it how I see it.

The problem is, since the vert is coming out in 2013 and has been announced its specs, the Zl1 coupe will not have any additional HP or torque next year either.

Your not going to have the coupe with a different motor or different anything to answer what Ford did and then have the assembly line completely which gears for the next car in line which could be a vert to be built at the standard 580hp.

Thats why im confused why some people are waiting till 2013. The jump (if any) in HP wont come till 2014. and could be GM last hurah because of cafe standards in 2015.

The only logical thing I see happening is if GM makes the 1lE concept much much more powerful or adds a "track pack" to the Zl1.

For a while now I've been calling the "track pack" option a ZL1 V.

(The V stands for Velocity.)

Plus couldnt the GT500 owners also get a tune from Rousch or Saleen and have it at 700?
