Camaro to debut before Indy according to Autoblog

Autoblog is saying sources at GM are saying that it will debut before Indy.

Oh boy I hope it's OK for me to post this. From what we've been told months ago by the folks at GM we've been working with, there will be a private unveil for press/media the weekend BEFORE the PUBLIC unveiling at Indy. Maybe that's what they're getting at.

Of course plans can be changed.

Obviously, these photos have been modified. Options like colors have not been released by GM, so I wouldn't believe that these are them. Even if the color names have been leaked, there's no guarantee that these are the colors associated with those names.

Moreover, GM just announced that the Camaro will be seen at Indy. Don't expect it to come out of hiding any sooner. Remember that this will be a MY2010 Camaro, so releasing it in early 2009 is as early as GM can get away with releasing the car.

September will be fine by me. If it is unveiled earlier then that's even better. But it doesn't really matter to me, Im sure it wouldn't be very far before the Indy bash, and no matter when I see it for the first time, I'm still going to have to wait to get my hands on it. :(

I don't know about this.

The picture on the site isn't even the actual photo...it's photoshopped with a "guesstimate" on a color. GM hasn't revealed a color lineup (just speculation) and AutoBlog has taken it upon themself to plop up an official photo with an unofficial color.

It just doesn't look very professional...and that's why I doubt it. I could be wrong, but I just can't take someone serious that doesn't even "try."

That seems plausible, however that makes GM's comments to Autoblog rather odd. Why tell them that when any reveal to the media would have a gag order on it until the public reveal? I'm wondering if someone in GM decided that September might be too long a wait. GM has generally shown production ready versions and specs pretty early.

+1. I'm not disputing the post, by any means, however, I remember reading Father would make annoucements on CamaroZ28 first. Who knows though?

has anyone else realized how FAMILIAR these pics are? the orange car came from THIS site... as did the blue car on the test track... autoblog is blowing steam up people's stacks... this is BS especially after the official announcement today... ok yeah definitely... after reviewing all the pics all but the white camaro are chopps... screw autoblog this is time 1000000 they are trying to screw with people... they remind me of the tabloids with "batboy" on the cover... :upset: :fighting0040: :slice: :bangdesk:

Wow, deep breath. I don't think they were trying to pass these off as the official color options, but rather to give people a feel for how it might look in the usual color options.
