So this means that the Camaro SS is getting the same LS3 that the Corvette has? Wow I hope this is true!

if that's actually true, it don't surprise me they released lower numbers first to make actual numbers seem that much better.

The Corvette LS3's are dynoing around 370 rwhp which translates to 450 crank hp (17% driveline loss). Hopefully we get the same under rated engines.

I highly doubt that they would release the same horsepower rating for both the Corvette and Camaro, even if both are underrated. This is either a typo or a mistake.

it could also just be rounding, like Jeremy on Top Gear said the ZR1 had 640hp

With different intake and exhaust, I don't think it will be rated the same as the vette ..

... If you think the LS3s are underrated.... why don't you add 10 more HP at least to what Jeremy just said about ZR1 ....

same intake manifold and the exhaust cant be that different.

im glad they are doing this, simply means they are using the same tune.

also 1_2many, 17% loss is way way high for a corvette drivetrain

Intake as in Air Intake .. exhaust in manifolds all the way including catback. It can certainly account for the difference from 430hp to 422hp .. that is only 8hp ..

I don't know why you keep saying this.

I can't remember who said it, either Bob Lutz or Ed Peper. Basically they are quoted as saying they have no problems stepping on the corvette where the camaro is concerned.

I'll look for the article. Dragon found it for me once... I should have book marked it.

Found it

And here's the release that where Ed Peper (Not Bob Lutz, though I think I remember him mentioning this once before, too) flat out said they aren't worried about stepping on the Corvette:
