I will probably stop by the dealer today to talk to the service dept. And find out if they have got a diagnosis yet. I left the car with them on Monday and they told me they could work it in on Tuesday so hopefully they have an answer! |

I hope your dealer has a fix for you reedster20. I hope that you, caligrown562, are also able to get this issue resolved as well. Let us know how both of your issues turn out.

i talked with my service center monday afternoon and said the tech had tracked the problem down to a bad wiring connection in the harness by the fuse block. the car should be ready later this afternoon and i will post results.

i just had this happen when i started my car after it sat for about 6 hours. it was fine on the way there but when i went to leave the light came on immediately. i turned it off, then tried again and it wasnt on. 5 min into driving everything beeped and cam on again. i called onstar and told me it was some communication ecu thing something to do with brakes. now that doesnt sound good but they said its fine to continue driving. my point is:
when i got home i read this and popped the hood to check the plugs and the first thing i noticed was a wet spot under the brake master cyl. then i realized that the fluid res cap wasn't actually turned to lock and it was just sitting there. nice right? so "safe to drive" via onstar link really isn't that safe. So NOW i wonder did the dealership do this? I had just picked it up two days ago after a cv axle replacement. and prior to that a month or so ago they did an oil change and lube..... humm. PS theres a nice oil mark on the engine cover from where the tech sat the oil cap, and didnt even bother to clean it. Anyway, im gonna go see if the lights come back on, but im thinking that might have been it. weird.

I have been having this Stabili Track issue for a year now. It has been at the dealership four times and they have checked everything, they even did technical support with it hooked up to try to track it down this last time. I drove out of the dealership today and it pops up again.
BUMP: Has anyone been able to nail down the exact cause and fix out there.

Still having issues with my StabiliTrak lights coming on and going off. Been in for service several times and discovered various codes, but nothing has fixed it. One time in for service it was a low voltage code and so they cleaned and re-tightened the terminal. Unhooked my underhood light and tried to say that was the problem. Guess what, the lights came back on again. Last time in, they found a sensor harness partially disconnected. Light goes off, but while driving home the damn lights came back on again. I have GM involved now, but they are telling me to put all the factory parts back on, so that they can diagnose the problem.Really??? What a joke!!!
Only when hell freezes over! The GM customer service rep kept deflecting and stating that they cannot do anything unless all the aftermarket parts are taken off and factory parts put back on. HEY LADY, THE DAMN LIGHT WAS COMING ON BEFORE ALL THE MODS! Besides, I highly doubt a camshaft, headers, and exhaust has anything to do with it. This is the treatment I get for being a loyal GM customer for the last 24 years. What's second worse to a lyer, is a person who makes excuses so that they don't have to do anything.

Had this happen to me this morning. I drove my car back home put my scanner on it sure enough misfire cylinder 6 and 4. Pop the hood and see the plug wires just laying there. For some reason the plug wires just popped off. I plugged them back up checked the others and reset the light no issues.

If you have a "Service StabiliTrak" on the dic on start up then it shuts off after 2-3 seconds, theres a updated calibration for the EBCM. The bulletin# is PIC5432A. Here is also a .pdf copy of it.

The message has nothing to do with Stabillitrack. Your engine is misfiring

Just to be crstal clear. The StabiliTrak message pops up while driving normally down the road at constant speed. I have seen it pop up after the engine starts and right after I put it in gear. It will stay on various periods of time. Sometimes going off after 30 minutes and sometimes it stays on for days. I have had periods of time of about 2-3 months and the light never comes on.
