Front Plate

When i put on my new bullet grille i wanted to take off my front plate (i only have a back one) when i realized this mother F****r isnt coming off. What is it weled to the body(the screws or w.e. the use) I was told my old plate i can use one more year until i need to have 2 so i was going to get the show and go plate.....is my only option taking it to a shop?
