SLP's BLACKWING COLD-AIR INDUCTION 21126A

Cold-Air Induction Package, 2010 V8 Camaro "Blackwing" (tube and filter)

The power-enhancing technology of SLP's BLACKWING COLD-AIR INDUCTION PACKAGES were pioneered many years ago on SLP's third and fourth generation F-car based Camaro's and is now available for the 2010 V8 Camaro. Each package includes a new high-flow, drop-in, reusable Blackwing air-filter and an OEM quality black-finished polypropylene high-flow air-intake tube with a raised SLP Blackwing logo providing up to a 10 horsepower gain. All necessary hardware and detailed installation instructions included.

NOTE: Part number 25017 filter cleaning kit required when cleaning/re-oiling your filter.

Lists for $199.95 on SLP's website.

V6 part number 21125A Lists for $199.95 on SLP's website.

SLP

I just installed my BLACKWING COLD-AIR INDUCTION part number 21126A. As usual it's another topnotch quality part from SLP. It was very easy to install; only took about 15 minutes. The CAI gave my set up a deeper sound (not by much) and it sounds great. What’s nice with this set up is you keep your stock air box which is closed, thus keeping out the hot engine bay air. And for the price you can not beat it. I would recommend this setup to anyone.

I have not had much time to drive it after the install so I will update with performance as soon as I put some miles on it.

The hardest part of the install was slipping this rubber coupler on the stock air box and new air tube. To make it easier for me I left the air box attached and it slipped right over. I then removed the air box to attach it to the new air tube, this was the toughest part. I used a trim removing tool as a wedge to pop the final side over the new air tube. use a small amonut of lube (soap/spit/silicone spray Repeat small amount…) on the inside of the rubber coupler before installing it and it will make it a lot easier.

Replacement breather line hose. The stock hose is easily removed from the stock air tube by pulling it straight out. The other end attached to the steel line mounted above the passenger side valve cover (Top Front) has a fuel line style snap clip that is easily undone with a small screwdriver.

The kit did not come with clamps for the breather line hose but I installed them just for good measure.

I did...

Now all we need is for you to test one of these bad boys on a stock SS and see what it puts down. I'm thinking it will hang with the best.

very nice write up, and looks great... I still favor the looks of a stock car...

my only gripe about that is, it really doesnt alter the air intake box so how can they call it a CAI kit? it is basically a new elbow & filter to reduce turbulance for better air flow..I dont see how this can lower the intake air temp any lower than stock..

dont get me wrong, it is still a great mod and looks good, but it shouldnt be tagged as a CAI. That should be a intake elbow & filter kit..

The kit is utilizing the stock air box and air inlet for the cooler air fed by the front grill area so I would say yes. Really though, can any of the companies but one or two call their intake kits a CAI...

I'm with killer on this, the only kits that pull air from a different place than the stock setup are the over the radiator design (New Era and Vararam), and pipeline's intake that requires moving the washer fluid reservoir to get the filter much lower in the car. Only the three intakes I listed above pull air from a different place than stock, so how how can anyone really call their intake a Cold Air Intake.

I agree with both of yall... that is my only complaint.. still a good lookin kit..

on the vararam, & new era kits I consider them more along the lines of a ram air kit too..lol.... course I am strange like that..

This is good timing after the CAI test LMR ran with the stock unit coming out 2nd in fastest acceleration. Very cool

is there any difference in sound??? i'm thinking with them silencers on the intake tube that it'd be a good difference in sound.

And Adm's race intake with the cold air scoop.
