I picked my 2010 up in Nov of 2009. Left the next day for Brazil for a month... That was a long hitch knowing what was waiting at home... I'm sporting about 23,000 miles on Brandi, though the last few have been at a very high rate of speed and a higher rate of fuel consumption.

Never really noticed how not smooth the runways are. How do they feel at 225mph? Awesome ride!

There are several bumps on that runway that will you literally lift you out of the seat. This runway is an old mostly abandoned naval air station. The aggregate material in the concrete is actually shells... from the beach. Its brutal on tires and skin alike... Below is a picture of my drogue chute after a couple of events at this location. This runway isn't actually ever used by aircraft anymore. In the shutdown area there is actually the one active runway that we cross. It's smooth as a babies bottom. A nice addition to the location we run now is the length... There is close to 5,000 feet of shutdown area. Thats a good thing as a friend of mine in a Ford GT is about to eclipse 300 mph in one mile. As for how "IT" feels going that fast, it's a rush, pun not intended... On this particular run there was lots of activity on my part due to the tires spinning pretty much all the way down the track, causing the rear end to want to lead the procession. There is a start line video where a friend of mine can be herd saying "he's all over the track." And I was... If you look at the sky through the windshield, or the tire track out the back... it's obvious the car wasn't necessarily happy and I was literally herding her down the track, with a metric crap ton of steering inputs... Most passes are relatively uneventful by comparison and actually exhilarating... The first pass of any given event the knees get wobbly, before and immediately after the pass, then things settle down to almost normalcy... if accelerating to 225 mph in a mile on DOT tires can be thought of as normal.

2010 2SS/RS
I ordered it in April 2009 and got it in Aug 2009. 25K miles on it. Inferno Orange with Chevy Sunset Orange Stripes, one off wheels, interior new three weeks ago, full air ride system, custom exhaust, ground effects and carbon fiber hydro graphics thru out. Interior still has a few wrinkles, waiting on summer and heat for those to disappear. You will also noticed no reverse sensors in the rear bumper. Car was ordered and built before those became available. Which is something I love about this car. I can't stand those little holes in the bumper.

I ordered my car in 2008, the dealer didn't even have spec sheets on the car yet. I received my car on 6/18/2009, my car was the first SS the dealership had ever seen. It was crazy how much attention the car got no matter where I was at. For a year I don't think I ever stopped to get gas that someone didn't want to look at it. I still get some attention and people asking me questions. Last week I was at the grocery store and there was a kid about 5 years old yelled out "grandma look at that neat car". The kid just 5 years old has good taste!
I have 35K miles on it now. I store it in the winter but I am not afraid to run the wheels off the rest of the year. There are now so many Camaro's on the road that they just aren't special any more. I am a member of a Camaro club and my wife and I attend meetings and the shows the club goes to but I don't show my car any more. I like checking out the mods on other Camaro's, it gives me ideas of what I can do on mine. I have about $6K in mods but I haven't done anything to it for the past couple years. They are fun cars to drive, I hate trying to keep the black clean, and the only problem was a bad tire pressure sensor. |

My 2SS was delivered 09/09/09. Currently has 61,000 miles and going strong. Only repair was to replace the battery this year as a precaution not because it was defective.
