Cold startup blip after long tube install.
I installed long tubes and high flow cats. Love the sound, but on cold starts it sounds like there is a weird blip, and it's not as crisp as before. It doesn't do this when hot or warm. So far I've verified the plug wires are on good, and changed startup airflow and fueling, but it doesn't seem to make a difference. I've also done a couple rounds of MAF tuning, and it runs excellent except this annoying cold start thing.
Am I being too picky here? I love that snappy, aggressive LS startup that most of these cars have. https://youtube.com/shorts/93xGZvCwG...UlpF4GT8ZfFZSz |

I think you're being a bit overly picky, as you said. The only thing I can think of is that the exhaust note/pulses are getting out much quicker due to the "free flow" of the headers and HF cats, where as before you had a bit of restriction, or "back pressure" as it used to be called and the exhaust is somewhat slowed down so it has that smooth transition of the idle circuit, where the headers make it sound like a "blip" as you call it because of the extra free flow, then catches up to the idle circuit. If that all makes sense.

It don’t come easy.

Honestly, I cant really hear the “blip” you’re talking about. Nonetheless, on colder days mine will actually stumble for a half sec, on initial startup only like you but, I figure it’s just that colder air going across the MAF. Really don’t think you need to be overly concerned.

Yes sir. And I forgot to mention, my Camaro does that all the time, has ever since I installed the headers in 2012... And then the cam. Just the nature of the "beast"!! lol. No worries and enjoy the new found sound and power..
