Need Advice On Camaro Repair!
So last night i was going through a very tight drive thru, i went slow and steady like i had plenty of times before, then my heart sank when i heart a grinding sound, when i stopped for gas on my way home afterwards i checked it out and was greeted by the first ever damage thats happened to my car.
I felt around the entire piece and it just seems to be the fender that was bent on the drive thru post. I went to get an estimate from a greatly reviewed repair shop on yelp and they estimated that most other places would just replace the entire part but that they could just fix it and realign whatever was needed and repaint the area for a bit over 1,300 out of pocket. Camaro is a 2013 ls, bearly over 3,000 miles since i got it back in november and so of course i currently have full coverage. Any advice on if i should try going through the insurance or try to buff it out myself? the biggest thing I'm worried about is my insurance rate going up and anyone have any idea if thats a good estimate for the repair? And also out of subject, is there a way to do the oil percentage reset if i changed the oil myself? |

How are you planning to buff out a dent?

That's exactly the same thing I was wondering after looking at the pics.

Try paint less dent repair first. Looks like a $300 repair to me? You may be able to have them lightly buff smudges out. Check this option. I've use this repair method in past with great results.
